Modding The Xbox 360 Hard Drive – Adding A Window And LEDs

A video showing the steps involved in adding a window and LEDs to your Xbox 360′s hard drive. I wanted a separate drive to use for homebrew and games on my JTAG hacked 360 so I bought a cheap enclosure from China, modified it, then stuck a spare 2.5″ laptop drive I had inside. I added the window and LEDs just for a bit of fun and so I can easily tell which is the modified drive and which is stock. The whole process took me about 3.5 hours and was relatively straight forward. You can buy cheap enclosures from dealextreme.com for around delivered if you want to have a go at this yourself. You can see the unboxing video here… www.youtube.com Thanks for watching!

Taking a Look at the Samsung Nuon

Nuon technology was developed by VM Labs and released in 2000. The Nuon platform was designed to be integrated in standard DVD players, and could enhance playback for DVDs designed for Nuon, as well as play Nuon games. A few manufacturers released Nuon-compatible players, including Samsung and Toshiba. Without little in the way of marketing or third party support, the Nuon quickly died with only 8 games and 4 compatible DVDs under its belt, and VM Labs filed for bankruptcy in 2001. Nuon had a few decent games, including Tempest 3000 and Ballistic, but this is not one the general gaming populace should track down. It’s not common at all, and typically gets a wee bit pricey. For collectors though, this is definitely an interesting and unique piece, and given it does have some playable titles, it may even see some use.

Puget Custom Computers have been fantastic throughout the entire process, right from the build to the delivery, and that’s what customers want.
