Store Specific Game Content Chaos – Pre-order Disorder
Pre-order a new game at Best Buy and get special armor OR pre-order at GameStop and get a new weapon. Wait what?! When every retailer has a different pre-order exclusive, who wins? Certainly not us gamers. IGN’s Daemon Hatfield vents gamers’ frustration at the chaos of silly “bonuses.” What’s your opinion? Let us know in the comments below! Personally I don’t care if I don’t get a new set of armor for commander shepherd, I just want the game. I don’t care if it comes out later i just want to play, not get additional content
Agree with everything except the all digital, I hate that idea.
I think Daemon is a baby that just can’t decide on a retailer to Pre order Darksiders. Pre order incentives don’t piss me off, however not knowing about an incentive, or console exclusives do, because most people are devoted to one console, like people who want Megaman in their SFXT, however they have an XBox.
I disagree with the digital thing i love the smell of the new game manuals LOL
I dislike the idea of digital games because u wouldn’t get add ons instead u just get the plain game, that is the reason why I like pre-ordering, however I do agree with every store having something different when you pre-order :)
What a load of FUCKING BULLSHIT!!!!!!
@MrStreetdance101 Wait, why wouldn’t there be add on content?
Agreed
Forza 4 did the same thing. Each retailer gave a preorder code for 1 of 6 cars. And about a month ago they released a “preorder pack” where you could D/L all the preorder cars for just $7. Total waste
People can bitch about games being all digital, but the fact is that its coming. PC games have been going digital since the early 2000′s, so its not going to be long before console systems follow.
Gimme ur shades
It really doesn’t make any since and is frustrating so when everything is digital I’ll be happy plus no long ass pre order line for a damn sticker or lanyard so I’m excited for true gamers to finally get the advantage that we rarely have lol
I LOVE MLP! :D
@smexxybeest1 yes because your weird
I’m all for digital purchases cuz I have wifi, but what about the people that don’t
FLUTTERSHY SHOWN
BRONIES APPROVE
its evn more fucking anoying for europeans because we dont have walmart, gamestop, or bestbuy, so if we want the content we have no choice but hope it will come out as dlc.
Forza 4 and test drive unlimited 2 did this and then launched it all at obscene prices a couple of months later.
Ugly guy
I’m agree with the preorder mess, i hate it, but i more like the boxes then the digital shopping. I prefer the freedom of choice, digital buy or box.
I have no problem with all digital if gamers in all countries had access to decent and affordable internet packages. Likewise, I like collector’s editions and special physical bonuses with my games so all digital is not personally something I would enjoy.
Mass Effect 2′s Terminus gear that GameStop offered as a pre-order incentive is *still* not available for 360 or PC gamers to buy from the Cerberus Network. PS3 gamers get it so why can’t it be available for everyone?
Four words gears of war 3
this doesn’t even bother me, the only thing that pisses me off is that at one point or another – all of my legitimately purchased games have crashed due to forced updates and poor patches…but on the other hand every piece of software i have ever stolen works perfectly fine…whys the industry make it so hard for us to enjoy their products..?
Preorder incentives are almost always pointless. If the publisher is going to give gamers an incentive for buying the game, make all of the stupid outfits and whatnot available to all retailers, and, if need be, let the gamer choose which incentive(s) they want during the first boot of the game. I’d rather just get a discount for buying the game early, than muddle over where to buy it from.
